Cenote is a term derived from the Mayan word "dzonot", meaning "Abyss": in Mayan Culture, cenotes were considered to be sources of the itself.
Cenote wordt gedefinieerd als een zinkgat in kalksteen met poelen aan de onderkant, die zijn te vinden op het schiereiland Yucatan. Slechts een klein percentage wordt onderzocht en veel ervan zijn geschikt voor recreatieve duikers. CENOTE CHAC MOOL

Chac-Mool is one of the caverns which has halocline , means where salt and fresh water come together and creating visual effects. With its big rooms and maximum depth of 12 meters/36 feet , is a perfect place for the novice cavern divers.

Distance from gear up to water: very short walk and down stairs (easy) but wear shoes and walk carefully on the stairs and decking.
Cavern Dives: Max depth 10 m / 33ft (cavern zone) easily a 45 minute dive or more on a cavern tour, permanent gold guideline in place. You can do 2 cavern dives here, completely different one from the other and go to the famous bat cave.

Snorkeling: The whole family can find something to do in the water here. Shallow on one side and deeper on the other. Large wooden deck area up entering makes a great entry point. One of the most rewarding snorkeling areas for adventurers of all ages.
